Oh beloved Crock Pot,
Your unwavering dedication to our family will not soon be forgotten.
I remember the day you came home with us after our bridal shower, how you shined! You had a cozy little home within ours on the lower level of our kitchen cabinets. However, like Elliott Gould on Friends, you frequently guest stared on the counter top. No other appliance need apply on the day I had a crock pot recipe lined up. I can still hear the ooo’s and the aahh’s of the curious family member or guest wanting to know what that delicious smell wafting out of the kitchen might be. The countless meals you had simmer inside all day long…there was practically nothing you couldn’t create.
Roasts, stews, soups, chilli, even the occasional dessert. My holiday mashed potatoes will never again taste quite the same in your absence, and the Paula Dean Mac and Cheese, with whole milk and butter, is still everyone’s favorite dish. Though you were Kitchen Aid brand and not a true “Crock Pot”, you still slow cooked your way into our hearts for eternity…rest peacefully dear friend, you’ve earned it.
